Diabetic Foot Health Check

£65
A foot health check provides a comprehensive assessment of your foot health. I will review your medical history, inspect your feet for skin changes, ulcers, and deformities, and perform sensory and circulatory tests to identify any signs of nerve damage or poor circulation. I also offer tailored advice on footwear, daily foot care, and protective measures to help prevent complications. Whether you're at low or high risk, this service is designed to give you peace of mind and keep your feet healthy.

For individuals with diabetes, regular foot checks are crucial to prevent serious complications such as ulcers, infections, and even amputations. Diabetes can cause nerve damage and poor circulation, making it harder to detect injuries or health issues early. Regular foot assessments help identify potential problems before they become serious, ensuring your feet remain healthy and reducing the risk of complications.

The appointment also includes trimming and filing your toenails, callus and corn removal, skin hydration, and personalised advice on foot care.

Routine Appointment

£55

For a routine appointment, I will perform a thorough foot assessment to evaluate your foot health. The session includes trimming and filing your toenails, callus and corn removal as needed, and skin hydration to keep your feet soft and healthy. This maintains your foot care progress, prevents common issues, and helps keep your feet comfortable and well-maintained.

Ingrown Toenail (as part of routine appointment)

Additional expert care for ingrown toenails, including assessment, gentle lifting, trimming, and advice on foot hygiene and footwear. If needed, I can refer you for advanced treatment or minor surgery to ensure quick relief and prevent future issues.

Fungal Nail Assessment & Management (as part of your appointment)

Fungal nail infections can be stubborn and slow to clear. While I do not prescribe internal medications, I provide the essential clinical groundwork and professional advice needed to give your nails the best chance of recovery.
My approach includes:
* Professional Assessment: Identifying the type of infection and discussing your options—whether that’s a GP referral for a "nail clipping" test or specific over-the-counter products.
* Specialised Nail Thinning (Debridement): Using professional drills and techniques to reduce the thickness of the fungal nail. This is a vital step, as it allows your chosen topical treatment to penetrate the nail bed effectively.
* Routine Care & Comfort: Filing and cutting the nails to reduce pressure and discomfort, helping your nails look neater while the healthy nail grows through.
* Personalised Advice: Guidance on foot hygiene, hosiery, and footwear to prevent the spread and recurrence of the infection.
The Road to Recovery
It is important to remember that fungal nails do not clear overnight. Because the infection lives within the nail itself, you must wait for the old nail to grow out and be replaced by healthy tissue. This can take 12 to 18 months.
Consistency is key.

My role is to maintain the health and comfort of the nail through regular professional care, ensuring your home-treatment plan has the highest possible chance of success.

Verruca Treatment & Assessment (Included as part of your Initial or Routine Appointment)

This includes a physical assessment, professional debridement (removing the overlying hard skin), and tailored advice on home management, such as the Zinc Oxide occlusion method. Sometimes, a combination of gentle clinical care and letting the body’s immune system do its work provides the best results.

Advanced Verruca Therapy (Verrutop®)

£45 per follow-up application
Note: Your first Verrutop application is included in your Initial Consultation at no extra cost.
For stubborn, deep, or painful verrucas, I provide a premium mobile service using Verrutop—a professional-grade Nitrizinc Complex. Unlike over-the-counter "freeze" kits or standard acids, Verrutop works through a precise process called mummification, dehydrating the viral tissue from the base up so it can detach naturally.
* Highly Effective: Targets the virus deeper than standard home remedies.
* Fuss-Free: No messy daily creams, acid plaster management, or bulky waterproof dressings are required.
* Professional Mobile Care: I visit you in the comfort of your own home across Colchester. Every session includes skilled clinical debridement with sterile instruments to ensure the treatment is applied directly to the active viral cells.
What to Expect During Your Treatment Plan
Verrucas are viral and notoriously persistent. Because the virus lives in the deep layers of the skin, clearing it is a gradual process. To ensure the best chance of success, please keep the following in mind:
* The Multi-Session Process: While superficial lesions can clear sooner, deep-seated or long-standing verrucas typically require 4 to 6 sessions (and occasionally a couple of brief follow-ups) to ensure the very base of the root is cleared.
* Consistency is Key: Treatments are ideally spaced 10 to 14 days apart to keep the virus on the defensive and match your skin’s natural shedding cycle.
* Visible Progress: It is completely normal for the verruca to change color (turning yellow, brown, or black) and harden between visits. I take clinical progress photos at every appointment so you can see the lesion shrinking first-hand!

Fingernail Trim (in addition to routine appointment)

£5
This simple treatment helps keep your nails tidy, healthy, and well-groomed as an essential part of your regular hand and foot care routine.

Family/Couples Appointments

Discounts for multiple appointments can be discussed.

Cancellation Policy

You can cancel or reschedule up to 24 hours before your appointment time.

After this, you will be charged 50% of the cost of the appointment, as it is too short notice for me to fill the space.

If I have to cancel your appointment due to any unforeseen circumstance I will reschedule your appointment for as soon as it is convenient for us both.

Thank you for understanding.
